Letter: Too much money for Afghanistan

It's amazing how we have millions to send to Afghan President Hamid Karzai, and he is able to set conditions about the money that is sent ["U.S., Afghans reach long-term aid pact," News, April 23].
Apparently the Afghans are cash-strapped. We aren't? We don't have enough money for Social Security, education and numerous other needs.
Who is President Barack Obama working for? Not us. He and Congress give away money we don't have. The people at home don't count anymore.
