Letter: Tree removal and safe sidewalks

"Residents: Stop removing trees" [News, Nov. 7] was a great article. Trees add an ambience to any block, in addition to cleaning the air.
However, I have three sections of sidewalk that are being raised by tree roots. I've made repairs so that strollers, kids on their bikes and senior citizens can pass safely.
The residents who are complaining now about tree removal will change their minds when their sidewalks are raised to dangerous levels, and they have to pay to fix them.
