Letter: Vote in a new cadre of leaders

We Long Islanders continually complain, and justifiably so, about our exorbitant taxes, layers of governmental bureaucracy, teachers' salaries, unsustainable pensions, bloated school budgets, congested roads and now the potential insolvency of our two counties. Yet, we seem to re-elect those same individuals who got us into this mess in the first place.
So, an idea: Regardless of your political persuasion, whether you are a Democrat or Republican, liberal or conservative, let's make it a point to vote every incumbent out. Let's send a message: Failure is not an option. Vote in every challenger until we find those who care more about us than their own election.
