With respect to your article “Ranks of LI workers up” [Business, Nov. 22], there is another statistic I would like to see. It would show the salaries people previously earned, compared with salaries earned in new jobs. I suspect such a statistic might tell a different story, or at least a more complete story.

I’m tired of hearing that the economy is recovering. It’s better than it was when we almost had a rerun of the Great Depression. It’s my opinion that Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. insurance is what prevented 1929 all over again.
