Letter: What whining over delegates reveals

Long Island voters will decide the outcomes of contested elections in the villages of Northport, Roslyn Estates, East Hills, East Williston, Mineola, Lindenhurst, Mastic Beach, Patchogue and Head of the Harbor on Tuesday, March 15, 2015. Credit: AP, 2010
To the best of my understanding, the rules for winning delegates, for both the Democratic and Republican conventions, are passed by their national committees in advance of the state primaries [“Cruz, Trump having ‘a fit,’ ” News, April 19].
It’s up to the candidate and his or her advisers to follow the rules in the quest to secure these delegates. Calling each other names and crying foul do not solve anything.
More important, it indicates to me, and maybe to others, the inability to peacefully solve unexpected problems.
