Regarding "Aftermath of school budget votes" [Letters, June 3], in order to keep our Nassau County seniors and homeowners whose children are grown, why hasn't anyone raised the idea of having them taxed at a lower percentage than families with children in school?

Chris Viola-Weiss, Oceanside

Thanks, Nassau County assessor's office, for billing $250 more a month! I'm looking at a 20 percent increase!

What happened to the 2 percent cap on property tax increases that Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo signed into law in 2011? So, once again, Nassau cannot come up with a fair system. If I filed a tax grievance, I could get a generous discount, and the remaining taxpayers would get the burden. Who came up with this unfair accounting?

Come on, people, this is why we left England and its unfair taxes. What do we have to do, start a militia and round up every able body to meet at the Starbucks and plan a revolution?
