Musings: Let MLB money help a child

Can we do away with the forced commercial inauthentic display of Memorial Day patriotism at sporting events? It is not patriotic. It’s actually patronizing, especially with the military baseball caps worn by all Major League Baseball teams during the holiday weekend.
I have a better idea. Take the money spent for these weekend baseball caps and set up scholarships in the name of a fallen vet from that city. It would mean a better life for one child in each city. Let’s make sure that fallen soldiers’ lives are not forgotten. Do that by improving a child’s life. Isn’t that what the military fought for in the first place?
