Musings: Town paves path to car repair

I live in the Town of Huntington, where many roads are a challenge to drive on without risking damage to one’s car. Just a couple of examples are New York Avenue in Huntington Station and Route 25A from Cold Spring Harbor through Huntington Village and east of it.
The list is too long to include in one letter.
Some potholes are sometimes done so poorly that the repairs are worse than the holes they’re supposed to fix, and repaved roads often need repaving.
It appears that some damage is caused by the installation of gas lines, but shouldn’t that be fixed by the gas company?
I often wonder where town council members live. If they regularly drove on these roads, they’d see their disgraceful condition.
