A letter writer stated in “Teach the facts about Christopher Columbus” [Letters, Feb. 25] that, “True history is what really happened.”

Let true history reveal that indigenous people also owned slaves and hunted them when they ran away. They include the Cherokee, Choctaw, Chickasaw, Creek and Seminole.

History will show atrocities were done by all nationalities. We can learn from all ancestral mistakes.
