What will soldiers find at home?

How wonderful! Thousands of our troops are finally coming home. But what will they do when they return? ["Inside the Afghan pullout," News, June 26]. Get a job in a society with massive unemployment?

We need the equivalent of a GI Bill of Rights, as we had after World War II, providing government-paid educational opportunities and job-training programs for our returning veterans, and perhaps even government jobs. Who knows? This might even lead to similar government-sponsored programs for our unemployed civilian population. It is time our tax money was spent on people who need it.
