Filler: On education, neither candidate has a clue
Education is such a great debate to have, because nobody actually has the slightest idea what to do.
Romney: "I love great schools."
Bold, sir, bold.
The debate right now is supposed to be about the role of government in America.
Romney is pushing the idea that the rights actually come from our Creator. They don't, of course. If they did, they'd have these same rights in Somalia and Liberia. But it's a nice thought.
Does the federal government have a role in education?
Romney is way off the conservative playbook in answering this. He's giving way too much credit and power to the feds and Education Secretary Arne Duncan, and it may not play well on the Red blogs overnight.
I cannot get over how badly Obama is doing in communicating tonight. He is just frazzled and off.
Lehrer has thrown away the clock and is trying to figure out how long it's going to take him to get a can of beer when it's over.
