nextLI kicked off 2021 by asking Long Islanders to identify local retail spaces that were vacant and could be explored to better serve the region as part of our next research project. Those suggestions helped us find spots across Long Island that are ripe for repurposing for the future.
nextLI, an initiative by Newsday funded by a grant from the Rauch Foundation, then commissioned 4WARD Planning to model out what those shopping center sites can be reimagined into based on the needs and wants of Long Islanders. Explore the full report here.
