The Long Island Rail Road’s Oyster Bay Branch resumed regular service for the morning rush hour Monday after the line was shut down Sunday due to a weekend storm that downed utility poles and trees that blocked the tracks.
The MTA website showed service on the Oyster Bay Branch was running on or close to schedule Monday morning.
Service had been suspended through Sunday evening and shuttle buses were running between Oyster Bay and Mineola while the trains were out of service.
Saturday night’s storm triggered outages that impacted at least 13,400 customers, the utility company told Newsday. By 5:15 a.m. on Monday, there were only about 400 customers still without power, according to the PSEG outage map.
