Erik Boland has covered the Yankees for Newsday since 2009. He joined Newsday in 2002 after working in the Warren-Youngstown, Ohio, area from 1996 to 2001 before earning his master’s degree at NYU. Boland covered primarily high school and college sports, as well as local golf and a variety of professional sports before shifting to the Jets beat in 2008.
