Composed of interconnected cubes, a slate-colored house sprawls across a peninsula in Copiague.

"The very first cube, that’s on the water, the first floor has that big wall of windows," said listing agent Colleen Colasacco. "On a clear day, you can see Manhattan."

The five-bedroom, 6 ½-bathroom house is on the market for $1.995 million. Taxes on the .85-acre property, which falls within the Copiague Public School District, total $22,962 annually.

Because the house is in an AE flood zone, a homebuyer with a mortgage would have to acquire flood insurance for approximately $6,500 a year, said Colasacco, of Daniel Gale Sotheby’s International Realty.

Built in 1985, the house covers 4,935 square feet, according to a Suffolk County assessment record. Much of the home’s accessible rooftop is covered in turquoise-colored Trex decking.

"It is very vibrant," Colasacco said of the roof, which stands out in aerial photographs.

Though the roof is flat, she said, the multilevel rooftop has "a bit of a grade" that allows for drainage through the gutter system.

Enveloped by two canals and the Great South Bay, the gated property is "very, very private," said Colasacco. In lieu of grass, the parcel is covered by bluestone gravel — an attempt at minimizing necessary maintenance, Colasacco said.

Inside, the primary bedroom has an en suite bathroom with a Jacuzzi soaking tub and an open shower. A small deck off the primary overlooks a canal and boat docking area, Colasacco said.

Each of the bedrooms has its own full bathroom, Colasacco said; one, she added, could serve as a second primary.

Among entertainment-friendly details are a dining area, a two-area living room and a bar with lighting that offers a "party vibe," Colasacco said. In the kitchen, a marbled blue island is offset by two silver refrigerator-freezer combinations.

"It’s, again, built for company, lots of people," Colasacco said.
