Where can buyers find a house for under the median in each county?
The median sale price of a single-family home in Nassau County reached $890,000 last month, Newsday reported based on data from OneKey MLS showed.
"That is wild to say the least," real estate agent Taleen Krug told Newsday, of Nassau’s $890,000 median price. "But I’m not surprised. If you look at Nassau County, all I’m seeing is increased pricing."
In Suffolk, the median was $718,250, according to multiple listing service that covers Long Island.
Of more than 3,700 sales that closed between March and May on LI, nearly 870 Nassau homes and more than 1,100 Suffolk homes sold below their respective medians.
Here are the top 10 communities where buyers scored a home for the median price or less.
NASSAU
Many communities with sales under the median are on the South Shore, as well as some in central Nassau.
