The Hewlett Bay Park estate that once belonged to the co-founder of Snapple is for sale. With a price tag of $15 million, the waterfront property is on the market for the first time. The taxes are $86,163.
"Everyone refers to it as 'The Snapple House,' " said Shawn Elliott, broker and head of the Nest Seekers International Ultra Luxury Division. He is co-listing the property with Zach Elliott and Richard Golden.
"It's truly a legacy-type estate that somebody could have forever," said Golden, who is a grandchild of Hyman and Mitzi Golden.
Hyman Golden co-founded the Snapple Beverage Corporation before selling it to the Quaker Oats Company, around the time of the home's construction in the mid-1990s. The estate, on Veeder Drive, has remained in the family for decades, Shawn Elliott said.

The property boasts five bedrooms and eight bathrooms, spanning more than 11,000 square feet. The estate overlooks Macy Channel, sitting on 2 acres.
The house was designed on a 45-degree angle, Golden added, optimizing its waterfront views. There is also a sense of privacy from the front of the property, due to its expansive driveway.
"Where basically any other lot in the neighborhood has a house in front of it, they just have the long driveway approach to the house," said Zach Elliott, "which makes it feel so special."
Listing photos reveal a temperature-controlled wine cellar stocked with bottles of Snapple: "It's cold in there," Shawn Elliott added. "So you have nice, ice-cold Snapple on demand."

The backyard features an in-ground pool and hot tub, with a cabana that contains a full kitchen, sauna and bathroom. There is also a private dock with 240 feet of waterfront.
"It's the positioning of the house that makes it so special," Shawn Elliott said, "because you can see all the way down Macy Channel, Reynolds Channel, all the way to the ocean."
Other standout details include an elevator, floor-to-ceiling windows in the main living area, a grand, winding staircase and a primary suite with double walk-in closets and a soaking tub.

Building a home like this today, based on the lot size, square footage and location, would cost "north of $25 million," Shawn Elliott said.
"The scale of the house is extraordinary," he added. "The ceiling heights, the room sizes are great — it was really built for a king and a queen."
