An anomaly and an opportunity: That's what Compass real estate agent Melissa D'Angelo says about her new listing in Huntington. The property is 490 square feet, categorizing it as a tiny home, and it's on the market for $400,000. The taxes are $4,040.
"This is unheard of," D'Angelo said, of the price point. She is co-listing the property with Jean Marie Blissett. "With the taxes being so low and the price point being where it is, it's literally cheaper than renting."

The house has one bedroom and one bathroom and sits on a 0.12-acre lot. There are five rooms total, with a front porch and two-car driveway. The backyard is fenced in with a deck and two sheds for storage needs.

There has been plenty of interest so far, D'Angelo said, adding that its Zillow listing has gained a high number of views since going live last week.
"We've had a good amount of people actually come through the house," she said.

The home also features a crawlspace, D'Angelo said: "There is a little basement with a hot water heater, but it's only big enough for utilities."
The property is in the Harborfields Central School District.
"It's just adorable," said D'Angelo. "You have to want apartment living or cottage living, but you'll have ownership of something."
