Billy Recce, June's Suffolk County Scholar Artist
The Long Island Scholar Artist for June is Hauppauge High School's Billy Reece
Billy Recce has been featured in stage productions at Hauppauge High School for each of his four years. Credits include Inherit The Wind, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Merrily We Roll Along and The Good Doctor, for which he won the East End Arts Councilas Teeny Award.
As a writer, his original musical, Balloon Boy: The Musical, has won the 2014 Thespian Musicalworks Award and was performed at Monarch High School in Louisville, CO, the 2014 International Thespian Festival in Lincoln, NE and the Kraine Theatre in New York City.
He is a member of the aStage The Changea players and is proud to write, direct and perform theatrical pieces each year that focus on finding a voice for social change. He is a member of the National Honor Society, the German Honor Society, The Tri-M Music Honor Society and the International Thespian Honor Society.
