In the category of dance, Lauren Holly is the Suffolk County Scholar Artist for December

Lauren Holly, a senior at Half Hollows Hills High School East, has been dancing since she was three years old.

Lauren has performed in NYC at Symphony Space for Joelle Cosentino’s IMPRESSION IV along with various Broadway stars and the Phoenix Dance Project. Additionally, she has performed tap at the Fred and Adele Astaire Awards Show. Her tap solo, performed to “Mack the Knife”, placed 7th out of 117 dancers this past summer at the Turn It Up National Dance Challenge.

In addition to her dance activities, Lauren has been chosen to perform Flute in SCMEA for five years, and, this year, was chosen to perform with the All American Marching Band in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in NYC. Her academic achievements include induction in to the National Honor Society, the Tri-M Music Honor Society and the Spanish Honor Society.

Lauren plans to stay active in both dance and music while at college where she plans to studying Marketing.
