45th anniversary of big event in Mets history
Forty-five years ago today, on Aug. 15, 1965, the Mets scored a 3-0 win in Houston with Al Jackson pitching a shutout. But that wasn't nearly the biggest event in the Mets universe that Sunday.
Back home at Shea Stadium, the Beatles were brought in to the World's Fair next door by helicopter, transported by armored car and played a concert at Shea that was seen as pivotal in the history of the Beatles and of outdoor concerts.
