Back spasms keep Pagan on bench
Angel Pagan, who left Wednesday night's game with lower back spasms, did not play Thursday as the Mets ended a nine-game homestand with a 3-6 record. Collins didn't want to risk aggravating the injury before the team's five-hour flight to Arizona.
With his fifth-inning single, Wright set a franchise record for total bases with 2,048.
Mets batting coach Dave Hudgens was ejected by plate umpire Vic Carapazza for arguing a called third strike on Nick Evans that ended the fifth. Evans struck out with the bases loaded.
