Bay sidelined with flu-like symptoms

It was not the best of birthdays for Jason Bay, who was not in the starting lineup because of an undisclosed illness. Bay, who turned 33, is suffering from the same flu-like symptoms that have spread recently through the Mets' clubhouse, only his seem to be more severe.
"We're going to have a doctor check him out," Collins said. "He's concerned about it being something he's going to need some medication for."
