Beltran moving to right field
Carlos Beltran will officially move to right field--when he is capable of playiing in the field. Angel Pagan will play in center. David Lennon will have all the details from spring training.
Beltran, 33, is in the final year of his seven-year, $119-million contract. The last two years have been hampered by injuries. Beltran appeared in 81 games in 2009 and only 64 games in 2010.
Angel Pagan patrolled center field in Beltran’s absence last season batting .290 with 11 homers, 69 RBIs and 37 stolen bases.
Beltran’s only appearance in right field was when he was a member of the Kansas City Royals. He had three starts in right during the 2000 season.
