Chris Carter, after last night's long double in Game 2, should get an extended chance to shine during this coming week as Jerry Manuel plans to use him at DH at the three American League ballparks. Manuel said that the lefty-hitting Carter will assume most of the DH duties, but Fernando Tatis also will get a look, as well as resting position players like Jason Bay and David Wright.

With Carter's big week on tap, we take a closer look in today's Mets Insider at the player nicknamed the "Animal" by Manuel during spring training, a moniker that took a little while for Carter to warm up to. Here's what he had to say about it:

"At first, I was like OK . . . does he think I'm weird or what?" Carter said. "But it grew on me. I like it now. I think it means a lot of good things - that I work hard. And when it comes down to a situation, he knows I'm going to give it my all and do whatever it takes. So I appreciate it. I'm cool with it."
