Bobby Parnell takes loss again for St. Lucie Mets

Rehabbing reliever Bobby Parnell made his fifth appearance in the minors and was the losing pitcher for Mets Single-A Advanced affiliate St. Lucie in a 4-2 loss to Tampa on Thursday.
Parnell (0-2, 13.50 ERA) allowed two hits and one run in an inning, striking out one for the Mets (14-20, 5th place in Florida State League South). His velocity sat in the low 90s, according to a radio broadcast of the game.
Recovering from 2014 Tommy John surgery, Parnell made three rehab appearances in April with St. Lucie before he was shut down with forearm tightness. He's taken the loss in both games he's pitched since restarting the rehab assignment this month. Parnell has struck out three in 4 2/3 innings during his five games, allowing 10 hits, four walks and seven runs.Two-out hits hurt Parnell on Thursday.
Parnell started the game and got Abiatal Avelino to ground out before striking out Tyler Wade swinging. But Miguel Andujar singled and scored on Mike Ford's double before Parnell recorded the third out on Mark Payton's fly to left.
Parnell's next rehab outing will occur in Triple-A Las Vegas on Sunday, Mets manager Terry Collins said on Tuesday.
Second baseman Jeff McNeil was 3-for-5 with a stolen base and catcher Colton Plaia went 3-for-4 with two RBIs for St. Lucie.

First baseman Brooks Conrad was 1-for-2 with a double and two walks and pinch-hitter Kyle Johnson hit a two-run home run, but the 51s fell to Sacramento, 6-5.
DOUBLE-A BINGHAMTON
(19-15, 2nd place in Eastern League Eastern)
Designated hitter Jayce Boyd was 2-for-5 with a double and third baseman Josh Rodriguez went 2-for-3 with a walk and a stolen base, but the Mets lost, 4-3, to New Hampshire.
SINGLE-A SAVANNAH
(12-20, 7th place in South Atlantic League Southern)
Lefthander Brad Wieck struck out 11 in 6 1/3 innings, allowing five hits, three walks and four runs (three earned), but the Sand Gnats lost to Lexington, 5-2. Shortstop Luis Guillorme was 2-for-3 with a walk and a stolen base and centerfielder John Mora went 2-for-4 with a double.
