Brandon Nimmo is OK, the Mets say.

The MRI on his left quad came back “clean,” the team said in a statement Thursday afternoon. The Mets considered him day-to-day a day after he left a game in the first inning after experiencing tightness in that part of his leg.

Those results confirmed what Nimmo suspected to be the case. On Wednesday, he described the issue as probably a “a just-a-few-days kind of thing rather than weeks.” He also noted that having 48 hours between games — with Thursday an off day and Friday a night game in Oakland — should help minimize missed time.

Without Nimmo for most of their Milwaukee finale, the Mets used Mark Canha in center. That likely would remain the case if Nimmo is out of the lineup against the Athletics. Manager Buck Showalter said Wednesday the Mets had contingency plans for a roster move if needed, but now that appears unnecessary.

“If I know Nim,” Showalter said, “he’s going to want to play [Friday]."
