Bryce Harper strikes out in debut against Mets
The most intriguing player who never played in a regular season big league game, struck out in his first two spring training at-bats,
Outfielder Bryce Harper of the Washington Nationals was fanned by Taylor Tankersley in the seventh inning of Monday's exhibition in Port St. Lucie. He then struck out in the ninth against Ryota Igarashi.
Harper was the overwhelming first pick in the 2010 draft. He played sparingly in the Arizona Fall League, hitting .343 with one home run and seven RBIs in nine games.
Harper is not expected to make the opening day roster.
