Do not count Miguel Cabrera among those who hold it against Jose Reyes for taking himself out of the game Wednesday after a first-inning bunt single that helped him win the National League batting title. Tigers slugger Cabrera, who led the American League with a .344 average, had nothing but positive thoughts about the Mets shortstop, one batting champion to another.

"I want to say congratulations," Cabrera told reporters at his locker at Yankee Stadium on the eve of the American League Division Series. "He came into a tough injury, he came back and won the batting title. I'm happy for him."
