Carter the X-factor

Chris Carter will be designated for assignment over the next two weeks. We mean that in a good way. With the Mets playing American league teams for 12 straight games, Carter should get more opportunities at being the designated hitter. He hit  two three-run homers against the Orioles this past weekend.

If Carter’s name has a familiar ring it may be because there are individuals with same name all over the place. Chris Carter is a top prospect with the Oakland A’s. Chris Carter was a wideout in the National Football league with the Vikings and Chris Carter created the X-Files,

The Mets' Chris Carter, part of the Billy Wagner trade with the Red Sox, was a DH for most of his college career at Stanford. Not known for his glove, Carter is largely relegated to being a pinch hitter against National League competition.
