Chris Carter signed by Tampa Bay
``Animal'' watchers may not have seen the last of Chris Carter. The former Met was signed to a minor league contract by Tampa Bay and will be in spring training with the Rays.
Carter got his animal nickname from former Mets manager Jerry Manuel because of the outfielder’s intense work habits. Carter hit .263 with four homers and 24 runs batted in. The Mets non-tendered Carter.
