Cubs GM: No frontrunner for manager's job
Former Cub player and Hall of Fame member Ryne Sandberg is considered high on the list of candidates to become the manager of the Cubs, but general manager Jim Hendry said no one has been ruled in or out.
Fired Marlins manager Fredi Gonzalez and Cubs intermin manager Mike Quade, who took over when Lou Piniella retired last month, could also be in the mix.
``There is no leading candidate, there hasn't been and there won't be until I take the final evaluations to [owner] Tom Ricketts and his family,'' Hendry told mlb.com. ``There's no sense talking about it, really.''
