Cubs trade LHP Gorzelanny to Nationals
Lefthanded pitcher Tom Gorzelanny was sent to the Cubs for three minor league players to be named later. Gorzelanny was 7-9 with a 4.09 ERA last season.
Gorzelanny became the odd man out as the Cubs recently aquired Matt Garza to form a starting rotation of Ryan Dempster, Carlos Zambrano, Randy Wells and Carlos Silva.
Gorzelanny will be part of the Nationals' rotation that includes Livan Hernandez and Jordan Zimmerman.
