Davey Johnson to speak at Hofstra banquet
Former Mets Manager Davey Johnson will be the featured speaker at the Hofstra baseball banquet on the evening of Feb. 5 at the Long Island Marriott in Uniondale.
Johnson, who guided the Mets to the 1986 World Series title, managed Team USA in the World Baseball Classic. He was inducted into the Mets Hall of Fame last summer.
Johnson played 13 seasons in the majors, made four All-Star Game appearances and received the Gold Glove Award three times as a second baseman. He also won two World Series titles as a player, in 1966 and 1970, with the Baltimore Orioles.
