Despite recent hot streak, Mets still in fourth place
Yes, the Mets have won four straight and are 18-9 at home. But they find themselves in the middle of a dogfight in the NL East.
The division is the only one in the majors with all its teams above .500. Florida, Washington and the Mets are all tied at 24-23, Atlanta is 24-22 and Philly leads the East at 26-19.
The Mets are 11-14 against the rest of the division, but that includes a dreadful 1-6 mark against Hanley Ramirez (pictured, top) and the Marlins.
So after three shutouts in the last four games (all losses), Phillies manager Charlie Manuel decided to hold a team meeting with his club after last night's game.
He knows everyone's after the top dogs and doesn't want this losing streak to spiral out of control.
