Dickey a kid in knuckleball years
R.A. Dickey was talking the other day about hallowed pitchers Warren Spahn and Phil Niekro and observed that both won over a hundred games after they turned 35, Dickey’s age.
Way over a hundred, it turns out. Niekro won 222 of his 318 career victories between age 35 and 48. Spahn won 187 from age 35 to his retirement at 44.
More on Dickey, tonight's starter against the Marlins, later on as we get closer to game time in San Juan.
