Early morning check-up for Mets

This morning brings us that spring training ritual known as "player physicals," usually uneventful, but occasionally raises red flags of problems to watch over the next six weeks. It's when the Mets first noticed Jose Reyes' hyperthyroid issues, a potentially serious problem that wiped him out for most of spring training last year. 

As for what's on tap a little later today, manager Terry Collins will have his pre-camp address to the media at noon. Collins has been very accessible during the offseason, as well as during the first few days here in Port St. Lucie, so we'll see what bombshells he has left in him about the coming weeks.

Also, Francisco Rodriguez is expected later, so he'll have plenty to questions to answer about repairing his rep with the Mets and life on the disqualified list. At least he'll be happy to see his Lamborghini again - the white spaceship-looking vehicle arrived in the players lot yesterday.
