The Mets' longtime clubhouse manager has been sentenced to five years' probation. Charlie Samuels, 55, admitted in February to having $2.3 million worth of team memorabilia. He pleaded guilty to possessing stolen property and tax fraud. He also is banned from any Mets facility, even if he buys a ticket.
The team fired Samuels in 2010. He had worked for the Mets since 1976 and became equipment manager in 1983.
