F-Mart remains untouchable
There was a time when outfielder Fernando Martinez was deemed ``untouchable'' as a trading chip.
At the moment, no other team would want him for anyone worthwhile.
Martinez is 21 years old and his story is getting older.
In five minor league seaons, he has hit a soft .277. He's had numerous injuries along the way and this year played in only 71 games at Triple-A Buffalo, batting just .253.
The Mets have taken two brief looks at Martinez at the major league level. He appeared overmatched at the plate, batting .174 with one home run and 10 RBIs in 109 at-bats.
