The Mets’ long-term plans don’t include Daniel Murphy at first base, but Collins said he will stay there for the remainder of the season, believing there is no need to see him elsewhere, such as second base or leftfield.

“I’ll probably leave him at first base,” Collins said. “We’ve got enough looks at Daniel Murphy at various positions to have an idea if there’s a position change or where we might want to put him next year.”
