First place beckons
The Mets could move into first place this week. Or not.
Here are the scenarios: The Mets are 1 ½ games behind (one in the loss column) first place Atlanta in the National League East.
While the Mets are in Cleveland for three games with the last place Indians, the Braves are hosting the Rays, who are tied with the Yankees for first in the AL East.
The tougher part of the week starts Friday when the Mets start a three game series against the Yankees in Yankee Stadium. The Mets won two of three at Citi Field last month.
