After spending the last three seasons entrenched as the Mets' backup catcher, Anthony Recker has signed a minor-league deal with the Indians. He will be invited to spring training.
Recker, 32, hit .190 with 15 homers in his three seasons with the Mets.
He became expendable with the promotion last season of Kevin Plawecki, the former first-round draft pick who could share time with starter Travis d'Arnaud next year.
