Tom Kohler, who graduated from Stony Brook University in 2008, has been invited to the Florida Marlins spring training camp, the team announced. 

Last season,  Koehler went 16-2 with a 2.61 ERA and 145 strikeouts in 28 games for the Double-A Jacksonville Suns. He was named the Southern League's most outstanding pitcher. 

Kohler was drafted by the Marlins in the 18th round of the 2008 draft and was 4-1 with a with a 3.38 ERA in six starts for Jupiter of the Advanced-A Florida State League.

Koehler went 6-5 with a 4.15 ERA in 14 starts at Stony Brook in his senior year. He  led the America East in innings pitched (93.1) and strikeouts (111).
