Gee, remember Dick Rusteck?
Before fans get too carried away with rookie Dillon Gee, tonight's starter against the Pirates, know that Dick Rusteck started his major league career with a shutout over the Reds in 1966.
Rusteck never won another game in the majors. Gee, who is 1-0 after seven innings of one-run ball against the Nationals in his major-league debut last week, can distance himself from Rusteck by merely winning one more game.
After his moment in the sun with the Mets, Rusteck spent the final 11 years of his career in the minors.
