Haren's last start for Arizona?
Dan Haren (7-8, 4.60 ERA ) starts against Jonathon Niese (6-4, 3.44) as the Mets try to leave Arizona with one victory in the three-game series. Next stop is Los Angeles and the struggling Dodgers, but that's what we said against the Diamondbacks.
Haren and his $12.75 million contract for 2011 and 2012 could be on the way out. He has said he expects to be traded by the July 31 non-waivers deadline but do not look for him in a Mets uniform. He has a limited no-trade clause and wants to stay near the West Coast. But the Cardinals are said to be very interested and Haren would not likely block a move to a contender.
