Hojo could be on Minaya's hit list
The Mets are hitting .253, which is 23rd out of the 30 major league teams. Batting coach Howard Johnson, who had a lifetime average of .249, could be on the hot seat when general manager Omar Minaya discusses the team's woes today.
The Phillies recently fired Milt Thompson, their hitting coach.
Johson escaped some hot water in 2006 when he was the hitting instructor at Norfolk. He took an unscheduled leave for a family function and was suspended for three days. But he survived that episode has been the Mets' hitting coach since July, 2007.
