Hold up on that Chipper Jones' retirement party
Cheer down, Mets fans. Chipper Jones, 38, was talking retirement before last night's game against the Rays in Atlanta. Then he homered and doubled. The Braves owe Jones the better part of $28 million and he isn't going to walk away from it. Reports now indicate he may retire AFTER this season (not today or tomorrow) along with manager Bobby Cox, who has a nice deal to remain on the payroll after he steps down. Jones will also seek a financial arrangement.
