As expected, the Mets placed Ryota Igarashi on the 15-day DL today after he strained his left hamstring last night.

It was not expected for Manny Acosta to be the player called up, but Bobby Parnell and Kiko Calero are off to slow starts in Triple-A and Sean Green is still injured, apparently. We were rooting for Tobi Stoner, but that's mostly because he has a funny name.

Here's the press release from the Mets:

FLUSHING, N.Y., April 21, 2010 – The New York Mets today announced that righthanded pitcher Ryota Igarashi sustained a moderate injury to his left hamstring in last night’s game.  The injury was confirmed today by MRI at the Hospital for Special Surgery.  He was placed on the 15-Day Disabled List and will progress to baseball activities as tolerated. To complete the Mets’ 25-man roster, the team has recalled righthanded pitcher Manny Acosta from Buffalo (AAA) of the International League.  Acosta will wear uniform #36 and will be available for tonight’s game.
