Ike Davis to skip surgery?

With Ike Davis scheduled for more baseball activity Saturday in Port St. Lucie, followed by workouts with the Mets in Miami early next week, the team is becoming hopeful that he can avoid surgery on his injured left ankle. So far, Davis has not complained of any pain in the ankle, and assistant GM John Ricco said Saturday that if Davis makes it through the week without any setbacks, the Mets believe he can continue his rehab without surgery.
