Jeff Francis signs with Royals
The Mets can officially forget about Jeff Francis for their starting rotation. The lefthander agreed on a one-year, $2 million contract with the Kansas City Royals.
The Mets were not willing to go that high anyway. The team gave Chris Capuano $1.5 million and do not want to exceed that for another potential starter.
Francis fills the spot vacated by Zack Greinke, who was traded to the Brewers.
Francis was 4-6 with a 5.00 ERA in 104.3 innings last season with Colorado.
